MLK Unfaded Event

The message of Dr. King is as vibrant and relevant today as it was
before his assassination 40 years ago. In school and the media the full
moral force of Dr. King's often is blunted and sanitized. Through this
program The Rome Young Democrats will take you beyond I have a dream -
and let you hear in Dr. King's own words, one of his most powerful
speeches.

"Beyond Vietnam" is a burning condemnation of The War of Vietnam - that
could if you substitute the word Iraq have the same searing urgency had
it been delivered last week. This speech was very controversial at the
time of it's delivery, before there was a large movement against the
war. After it was delivered the Chicago Tribune described him as "The
most dangerous man in America". The Washington Post said he had
"diminished his usefulness to his cause, to his country, and to his
people."

After our program we will have an after-party at Harvest Moon's back-bar.
